For many years, our team of researchers and engineers have been working out how to make cycling more convenient and enjoyable. We now have a revolutionary design concept for e folding e-bike and funding from the UK Government to turn it into a game-changing product.
The Bike will be developed by Mulaner Engineering and will aim to eliminate concerns over storage and theft, which are major concerns for you if you would like to cycle more. Innovate the UK has awarded additional funds to accelerate the development of this game-changing urban mobility solution.
The future of city transport is a folding e-bike that’s clean, healthy, and always with you.
The BriefBike concept, created by Dr. Jody Mulaner, is an e-bike that’s as easy indoors as a roller-case, with room for whatever you need to carry, and it flicks open instantly, ready to ride with a reassuring ‘clunk’’.
New forms of transport are urgently needed. Automotive electrification cannot achieve climate objectives without more cycling (Select Committee for Transport). Although cycling has a vital role in decarbonization, its impact on public health produces more immediate economic benefits. Assuming you made at least one additional trip a week by bike, an initial production run of 5,000 bikes would reduce CO2 emissions by 500 tonnes, a societal benefit of £172,000. The activity-related health benefits not only make you feel fitter and stronger, but they also have an economic value to society of £3.8m.
